Update Whew is anyone else out of breath?
I haven't posted for a bit because well it's just crazy! As always I have put things off until the last min. and now the bell is ringing and I hear some lady singing in the background! Oh wait I think that might be my toddler snoring on the couch! Hey I'm tone deaf what can I say!
I did the CVS run on Sun. and it was actually pretty funny! You could spot the couponers coming down the aisle! Then you would see us checking out each others basket like "Did they find that Right Guard? That shelf was empty!" I really hope that those of you that found the aerosol Right Guard found it in the box! There were $2 coupons on the inside that made this a great money maker! Because of that CVS run I have been able to make some little extra gifts (very simple packets of homemade peanut butter roll and the cutest little ornaments I found). I hate to say it but I look forward to shopping right at the holiday or right after because of the deals!
It's going to be a bit sparse until after the holidays on here I'm afraid. I just have to step back and give myself some breathing room so that I can enjoy the holidays! I hope everyone is finding peace and the greatest of joys in their frugal holidays. Remember what is important... love, the joy of being with those you love and love you, gratitude because even in these tough times we are much better off than a lot of people, laughter and giving.
Oh really quick! I dare anyone that reads this post to do this if you haven't already! During these crazy times and very cold times this week there are bell ringers out there trying to help those in need! Please stop and ask them if they would like a cup of coffee or hot chocolate or even a soda. Trust me it is very appreciated!
Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year! if I don't see you before then!
- Corn starch - Makes a great diaper rash preventer/cure. Doesn't have to be name brand. I would suggest getting a little shaker container and filling it then shake over little one's tushy during diaper change. Our little one has really sensitive skin and I have used this over and over. In addition especially at night you can apply diaper rash cream over top off the corn starch as a moisture barrier. This really helps over night when they aren't changed as often. - Celery - wrap in aluminum foil (covering even the ends) and it will last for weeks in the fridge. - Liquid fabric softener - pour some into a plastic bowl with a cover, soak sponge in liquid, squeeze out and toss in dryer with wet clothes. I've been using the same bottle since Oct. and it works great! - Vinegar - Pour 1/2 to 1 cup into laundry rinse cycle and will help to soften clothes instead of fabric softener (I've done this and it works but I prefer the sponge method listed above). - Shaving cream for woman - Don't have a clue if this would work for a man but instead of shaving cream try using inexpensive hair conditioner to shave. Works fine for me.
WHAT I THINK DOESN'T WORK Freezing canned biscuits. I had read that they freeze fairly well so I tried it. I don't recommend this. It changes them so that they come out tunnelly and tough. They won't rise the way they should.
My wife and I are Club Coupon. As parent's of a toddler that is growing way too quick our daily lives are an exciting adventure. Necessary costs compelled us to start couponing in May of 2008 in a very serious way. We love saving money and we know you do to. We created our blog to share our savings stories and help you make the most of your money.
